Yao Jianhong, deputy director of the Xiamen Foreign Affairs Office, visited the consulates-general of the Philippines and Thailand, and spoke to the Consul General of Singapore on the phone Feb 13, to discuss coronavirus epidemic prevention and control.

 
Yao updated foreign consulates on Xiamen's work in epidemic prevention and control as well as measures taken to help companies resume operations. He also asked about their difficulties and advised them on further action.
The local government highly values foreigners' health and safety in Xiamen, and the foreign affairs office has worked hard to ensure the supply of personal protective materials, Yao said.

 
He expressed gratitude for the support and donations from foreign governments, consulates and people, and called for joint efforts in fighting the epidemic and in further economic cooperation.

Consulates general in Xiamen also expressed appreciation for Xiamen's help to their people and timely information sharing since the outbreak. They said they would continue to support Xiamen and China in fighting the disease.
