The 2019 China-Southeast Asia Workshop on Marine Ecosystem Monitoring and Protection was held in Xiamen, East China’s Fujian province on November 2-3.

Over 40 scholars, experts, and representatives from China, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia were invited to the seminar.
The attendees centered their discussion on perceptions of regional marine ecosystem and marine environmental monitoring.

They also exchanged what they have done since the implementation of a demonstration program about the marine environmental monitoring and protection in the South China Sea, a project under the auspices of China-ASEAN Maritime Cooperation Fund, and explored where they should strengthen cooperation in the next phase.

The workshop was sponsored by the Third Institute of Oceanograhy, Ministry of Natural Resources.
