2019 WOW marine culture carnival launched in Xiamen
A launch ceremony for the 2019 Xiamen marine culture carnival and the art and culture season of Aotou Vision was held at Xiang’an Chaokuang Art Museum in Xiamen, East China’s Fujian province, on October 1, 2019.
As an important part of the World Ocean Week in Xiamen, this year’s carnival is under the theme of marine cultural and tourism integration.
And, for the first time, the festival will be celebrated across the whole city of Xiamen. Each district has prepared marine culture feast to entertain the citizen. Kite flying performance, coastal lifestyle festival, ship model exhibition, boat-burning festival, Xiamen Spartan Sprint, and study tour, to name but a few.
A tourism product themed on Hi, Ocean! was also unveiled during the ceremony. Consisting of five routes, the product combines major marine tourism resources of six districts of Xiamen, such as the fishing village Zengcuo’an in Siming District, the Wuyuan Bay in Huli District, the Xiamen Horticultural Expo Garden in Jimei District.
In addition, the audience were also treated by a musical feast made by musicians from Austria and Romania and by children from the Oucuo South Music Earth Project Troupe, a local program to carry forward the Nanyin music.
The Aotou Vision Art and Culture Season is a supporting activity of the 2019 Xiamen marine cultural carnival. The three-month long event includes a ship model exhibition, an international music week, art exhibitions, and more.
The 2019 World Ocean Week in Xiamen is scheduled to take place from November 1 to 7.
