Xiamen-Hangzhou high-speed EMUs opens

With the launch on June 26th of Train No. G1680 travelling from Xiamen to Hangzhou East Station, people in Xiamen now can take high-speed trains from Xiamen Railway Station to Hangzhou, without needing to take the trouble to go to Xiamen North Railway Station in Jimei District.

 

Train No. G1680 departing from Xiamen Railway Station at 7:38, travels along the Hang-Shen Line, the He-Fu Expressway and the Hu-Kun Expressway, arriving at Hangzhou East Station at 13:56. The total duration of the the journey is 6 hours and 18 minutes and a second-class seat costs 385.5 yuan. This is the first high-speed   train bound for Hangzhou to depart from Xiamen Railway Staton in Siming Distict.

 

Trains No. D6476 and No. D6478 are to also be launched operating a night service, running from Xiamen Railway Station and Xiamen North Railway Station to Longyan, making travel between the two cities more convenient. Additionally, trains No. D4091 and No. D4093 departing Xiamen and terminating in Shenzhen North are to come into service everyday from June 1st to August 31st, as well as Train No. D2347 on Saturdays and Mondays.

 

The number of passengers departing from Xiamen Railway Station during July and August is predicted to reach 5.05 million, an increase of 7.7% on last year.
