Traveling time to Hangzhou expected to shorten to four hours

2016-10-24

The Hang-Wen railway is expected to go into operation by the end of next year, well in time for the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games. The Hang-Wen railway is designed to  operate at a maximum speed of 350 km/h, which will shorten the journey time between Hangzhou and Wenzhou to about one hour.

For Fujian, the railway construction will further reduce the spatial and temporal distance between Fujian and the Yangtze River Delta. At present, it takes six hours from Xiamen to Hangzhou by way of the Fu-Xia railway, the Wen-Fu railway and the Ningbo-Taizhou-Wenzhou railway.

The Fu-Xia high-speed railway will shorten the travel time between Fuzhou and Xiamen to less than one hour. It will, therefore, save at least 2.5 hours from Xiamen to Hangzhou when travelling by high-speed train.

In addition, there will be a train route directly connecting Xiamen to Yongjia, Yiwu and Fuyang after the Hang-Wen railway is put into operation, which will make trade and tourism connections between Fujian and Zhejiang much more convenient.
