Direct Xiamen-Melbourne flight to be launched on July 1

According to an announcement made by Xiamen Airlines, a direct international flight linking Xiamen with Melbourne will be launched on July 1. The flight will be served with a Boeing 787-8.

 

The flight will leave Xiamen at 10:15 p.m. every Thursday and Sunday, and depart from Melbourne at 12:05 pm every Monday and Friday.

 

It is one of three international flights that are scheduled to be launched this year. The other two international flight destinations to be launched this year are Vancouver and Seattle.

 

Currently, Xiamen has direct flights to Singapore, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Jakarta, Siem Reap, Seoul, Jeju Island, Tokyo, Amsterdam, Hanoi, Nice, Sydney, and Cebu.

 

The Xiamen-Cebu direct flight was launched by Xiamen Airlines on March 27 this year, and will be available till October 29. The flight departs from Xiamen at 9 am every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, and arrives in Cebu at 11:55.

 

At present, sixteen airlines are operating international and regional flights (Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan) at the Xiamen airport. Below is a list of the check-in and closure times for international and regional flights on airlines operating at the Xiamen airport:

 

All Nippon Airways: 30 minutes

Thai Airways: 40 minutes

Air China: 30 minutes

Cathay Pacific: 40 minutes

Cebu Pacific: 45 minutes

China Southern Airlines: 30 minutes

Dragonair: 40 minutes

KLM-Royal Dutch Airlines: 60 minutes

Korean Air: 30 minutes

Malaysia Airlines: 40 minutes

Philippine Airlines: 45 minutes

Singapore SilkAir: 40 minutes

Taiwan Mandarin Airlines: 40 minutes

Taiwan TransAsia Airways: 40 minutes

Taiwan UNI Airways: 40 minutes

Xiamen Airlines: 45 minutes (starting from July 25, 2015)
