Xiamen to hold China Rowing Oscar this weekend
The 2017 China Rowing Cup and the China Rowing Masters Regatta, also known as the Oscars of the Chinese Rowing World, will kick off this weekend at the Water Sports Center of Xiamen, Southeast of Xinlin Bay, Jimei District.
The Water Sports Center of Xiamen has an area of sixteen hectares with a favorable environment and has been said to be the “China’s most beautiful water course”.
A total of 40 domestic and overseas teams, including more than 500 rowers, will compete at these two races. Eleven teams will participate in the China Rowing Cup and 29 teams will compete in the masters regatta.
The two-day event is jointly hosted by the Water Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sports of China, Chinese Rowing Association, Fujian Provincial Bureau of Sports, Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Sports, and Jimei District People’s Government.
