The district of Tong'an hosted a National Day celebration headlined by celebrated Estonian pianist Ivari Ilja last week. At his Tong'an concert, Mr. Ilja played the works of Western composers such as Edward Tubin, Beethoven and Chopin.

Mr. Ilja is a professor and the dean of the National Estonian School of Music and Drama. After arriving in China on September along with a three-meter-long piano, he has hosted a series of piano concerts and master classes. Estonia's Ministry of Culture helped to organize his tour of China.

Hosted by Tong'an's Cultural and Sports Publishing Bureau, the National Day concert was organized by Tong'an's Cultural Center and executed with the assistance of the Youth Music Education Association of Fujian and the Shangyin Art Training School of Tong'an.
