The 2018 Xiamen International Friendship Concert was held on June 23 to strengthen cultural relations between Xiamen and its sister city of Nice, France.

The concert La Vie en Rose (formerly Piaf!Le Spectacle) was inspired by the film of the same name which depicts the life of the famous French singer Edith Piaf.

Composed by Gil Marsalle and starring Anne Carrere, the concert covered many of the legendary singer's famous songs, such as La Vie en Rose, Hymne à L'Amour and Milord to portray the ups and downs of her life.

Over the years, the concert has been performed 300 times for millions of spectators in more than 50 countries.

The international concert was proposed by Nice and co-organized by the Nice municipal government, Xiamen's Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and the Xiamen People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.

The two cities established a sister-city relationship in 2014 and since then, frequent cultural exchanges between them have been conducted, such as the classic ballet Marco Polo staged by the Nice Mediterranean ballet for Xiamen residents.
