Xiamen troupe retains the “lotus style” title

Recently, the Ninth "Lotus Style” National Children’s Dance Performance closed its curtain in Shanghai. The Flying Egret Troupe from the Youth Palace of Xiamen Siming District won the gold medal.

 

The performance was approved by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committeeand sponsored by China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Chinese Dancers Association. It is the highest national award of children’s dance  in China. This year, nearly 7,000 preschool children, primary and secondary students presented  177 dance performances dancing  in the finals . These programs show the public with children's playfulness, their campus life and local customs.

  

This award-winning dance “Jin Feng Lai Yi”is inspired by the story of the “Chinese Year of the Rooster”, comparing rooster as a beautiful phoenix, meaning that the prosperity of the motherland lasting forever and showing the harmony and happiness of the Egret Island. 
 
Other selected works from the Fujian Province won three silver medals in this competition.

 

It is reported that the Flying Egret Troupe from the Youth Palace of Siming District has been working on  original works for 12 consecutive years, and has been wining the "Lotus style" gold medal for 6 times since 2007.
