"It should be an island with no cars and full of piano sound."She has been fantasizing about Kulangsu before arriving there. She thought the island should be a place with no cars and full of piano sound.
In order to better communicate with local people, she began to read novels and poetry created by writers of Chinese descent and spared the time to read historical materials related to the Kulangsu Islet in the British Library. At last, she accumulated more than 1000 pages of medical, religious, cultural and other data relating to the island. She bound it in a volume and gave it to the piano island as a gift.
After returning to Britain, Emmy shared ten things she learned in Chinaon the Guardian Music site.In her new album, Emmy will include six songs that told the story of Xiamen. Of them, there is one Chinese song that is particularly dedicated to Kulangsu . When the new album is made, Emmy may bring it to tour the world and the last stop of the tour is likely to be the Kulangsu Islet.
