iXiamen app offers new features
City officials announced recently a significant update to the iXiamen app, which was originally launched in 2014. With more than 2.3 million users, Xiamen authorities describe the app as a virtual office that provides services to area companies and residents.
The upgrade adds new features. Altogether, the app provides more than 100 services, including public security notices, tax services, traffic updates and weather news. Other features include tourism information as well as culture and education services. The app can also be used to access information about social security, medical and health care services and other government-related functions.
The app also includes a limited number of features for users from other provinces, including an application process for a single-trip pass for visits to Kinmen.
