Xiamen ranked 14th among Top 100 National Well-off Cities

The Forum on Comprehensive City Construction of Well-off Society in China recently wrapped up in Beijing. The China Information Industry Association hosted the event in coordination with a pair of co-hosts, the Credit Committee of China Information Industry Association and the Competitiveness Think Tank.

The forum included a survey that ranked 100 Chinese cities according to each municipality's economic development, people's living standards, cultural development, ecological environment and social governance.

Xiamen ranked 14th on the list of “Well-off Cities.” Xiamen also earned recognition as a model city in terms of sustainable development.

Shenzhen, Hangzhou and Suzhou topped the Chinese mainland list. A total of seven Fujian cities made the list, including Fuzhou, Longyan, Putian, Quanzhou, Sanming, Xiamen and Zhangzhou.

Xiamen officials also announced that per capita disposable income for urban residents in the city topped 50,000 yuan last year, more than 13,000 yuan higher than the national average and 11,000 yuan higher than the average for Fujian.
