Xiamen urban resident income ranks among nation's highest

The National Bureau of Statistics recently released its annual survey of disposable income for urban residents. Per capita disposable income for Xiamen urban residents topped 50,000 yuan, more than 1,000 yuan above the provincial average and over 13,600 yuan above the national average.
The makeup of resident income is evolving over time. While per capita income is up 84-fold over the past 36 years and now tops 35,400 yuan, wages have dropped to 70.8 percent of total disposable income, down from 86.2 percent in 1981.
