Subway Line Two construction enters new phase

City officials said last week that construction crews have begun welding long rails along the path of the subway's upcoming Line Two. Long-rail welding enables the subway line to accommodate electric cars.
Construction methods include the use of spark contact welding and other advance equipment. Workers have completed 20 kilometers of rail for Line Two, which will extend more than 83 kilometers upon completion.
