Tunnels connected for longest section of subway Line Two

Construction teams digging toward each other from opposite ends of the subway path underneath Caijianwei Mountain between the Wengjiao Road and Maqing Road stations recently connected their tunnels, a milestone for Line Two construction.
Tunneling for Line Two is scheduled to conclude by the end of the year, according to project manager Lu Xinyu. Begun in 2016, tunnel construction included multiple phases such as full-section curtain grouting, additional shed pre-supporting and controlled blasting. Current projects include the construction of reinforced concrete structures as well as track construction.
