Construction of China's first cross-sea rail bridge progresses

Quanzhou Bay Cross-sea Bridge, the first cross-sea high-speed rail bridge in China took another step toward completion, as construction on its main trestle has been finished recently.
The bridge, about 20.3 kilometers in length, is an integral part of the Fuzhou-Xiamen railway.
Spanning 277.42 kilometers, the railway, with an estimated investment of 49.9 billion yuan ($7.2 billion), is scheduled for completion in 2022. It will be the first cross-sea railway in China and will cut the trip from Fuzhou to Xiamen to less than one hour.
