Xiamen hits new high for cruise passenger throughput

Last week's departure of the Superstar Gemini cruise ship pushed the total number of cruise throughput from Xiamen above 203,000 passengers on the year-to-date, an annual increase of 77 percent.
The number also exceeded the previous annual peak of 200,900 passenger throughput.
The increased numbers are the result of a multi-year plan to develop the cruise industry in Xiamen by promoting various types of cruise vacations that combine leisure and cultural activities with new destinations and stopovers.
