Siming district boasts top foreign investment in Xiamen
A total of 36 projects worth 27.35 billion yuan ($4 billion) was signed at the Siming venue of 2018 CIFIT's signing ceremony held on Sept 8, the first day of the annual event.
The district boasts the largest foreign investment among districts in Xiamen, totaling $750 million.
Of the 36 projects, three are Fortune 500 companies and their subsidiaries, including Chia Tai Group which plans to locate its Chinese aquaculture headquarters in Xiamen, and subsidiaries of Suning Corporation and Pacific Construction Group.
The four major industrial sectors that are in the district saw fruitful results, including financial projects with the Ruida futures public fund, cultural projects with Huace Group, a Chinese film and television company, sports projects with Alisports, and a health project with the Beijing Genomics Institute.
The 2018 China International Fair for Investment & Trade (CIFIT) kicked off in Xiamen, Fujian province on Sept 8 and will run through Sept 11.
The four-day event is attracting more than 100,000 business people from over 800 commercial associations and 4,000 companies representing more than 110 different countries and regions, over 300 of which are international organizations, Fortune 500 companies and other international companies.
