Customs officials aim to cut clearance times by a third

2018-06-21

Local Customs officials recently announced significant progress toward the goal of cutting the time for customs clearance by one third in 2018.

In the first four months of the year, the time for import clearance at Xiamen dropped by 5.82 hours while export clearance dropped by 0.37 hours.

Policies designed to help reach the goal include the ability to submit declarations 24 hours a day, an acceleration in the digitization of bills of lading and cargo claims, streamlined import devanning procedures and improved arrival report transmissions.
