Songyu wharf ferries to be suspended until May for maintenance

Two ferry lines going from the Songyu Wharf in Haicang District to the Neicuo’ao Wharf in Kulangsu Island and the First Wharf will be suspended between March 13 and April 30 as maintenance work on the pontoon is done, according to the Xiamen Ferry Company.

Weather permitting, the whole project is expected to be completed in 49 days. A brand new pontoon will be unveiled to citizens and tourists on May 1.

During the maintenance period, all of the tickets for the Songyu-Neicuo’ao route will be redirected to the Xiagu Wharf of Xiamen International Cruise Center, who will operate extra ferries to handle the temporary spike in passengers. Therefore, visitors who want to go to Kulangsu can take the day ferry from the Xiagu Wharf or the night ferry from the Lundu Wharf.

Ticket-holders who possess the special pass for the Songyu-Neicuo’ao ferry line can still use their card to take the ferry as well as local residents at the Lundu Wharf or the First Wharf.
