Xiamen officially gains UCLG membership

Xiamen has officially becomes a member of the United Cities and Local Government (UCLG) on December 8th when the UCLG Executive Bureau approved its application, according to the Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs of Xiamen Municipal Government.

Joining the UCLG will contribute to Xiamen’s further exchanges with foreign countries.

The Executive Bureau meeting was part of the 2017 UCLG World Council Meeting which took place in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province from December 6th to 9th and was organized by the City of Hangzhou and the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC).

Established in 2004, the UCLG is today’s largest global network of cities, local and regional governments.
