China Railway completes sub-marine utility tunnel to Dadeng

Railway officials recently announced the completion of a new underground utility tunnel extending for the new airport facility currently under construction on the island of Dadeng.

 

The tunnel is the longest of its kind in China when measured by distance and by diameter. The tunnel stretches 968 meters between Xiang'an and the island of Dadeng. The route will be used to carry a series of utility pipes for the airport.

A group of young reporters from xmnn.cn news portal of Xiamen, Fujian province, visited the Xiamen Science and Technology Museum on the afternoon of November 4th when the museum was holding an ocean-themed open house.

The Xiamen-Baltimore sister-cities exchange program was scheduled from July 25th to July 28th. Five middle school students from Xiamen, including myself, introduced Xiamen and Chinese culture to the exchange students from Baltimore high schools.
