2017 IFMAR World Electric Off-road Championships kicks off in Xiamen

The 2017 IFMAR World Electric Off-road Championships kicked off on Nov 16 in Xiamen, a coastal city in East China's Fujian Province.

 

A total of 280 contestants from more than 20 countries and regions around the world took part in the competition which features 2WD Electric Off-road and 4 WD Electric Off-road.

 

Ryan lutz, a contestant from the United States, participated in the championship for the second time and would compete in the 4 WD Electric Off-road.

 

"I ranked 13 last time and I wish I would get better results this time. The facility here is really good," Ryan lutz said.

 

Terry Worede, chairman of Asia-Pacific Federation of Car Model Sports, said that the sport is booming in China and the government has given great surpport. "It is a big thing and really makes a difference, that's why it is developing so fast in China."

 

Dallas Mathiesen, president of IFMAR, said that it was not only the competition for the world titles, but also a golden opportunity to meet old as well as new friends from all over the world. They would share their experience and bring back the friendship.

 

The competition will last 7 days.
