New energy vehicles dazzle 2017 CIFIT

A dazzling array of state-of-the-art New Energy Vehicles (NEV) took the stage at the 2017 China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) currently underway in the port city of Xiamen in South China’s Fujian province.

 

With the war on pollution in full swing, China has signalled its intention to join countries such as Britain and France with plans to ban the manufacturing and sales of cars running on traditional fuel.

 

Xin Guobin, vice-minister of industry and information technology, told a forum in Tianjin on Sept 9 that the ministry had started "relevant research" and was working on a timetable for China.

 

Both domestic and foreign-owned auto makers are expected to be even more aggressive in developing electric and alternative vehicles for the world's largest car market.
