Xiamen Harbour ranks No. 15 worldwide

Over the past five years, more than 50 new production berths were built in Xiamen Harbour, including over 20 berths for 10,000-ton ships. The throughput capacity of the container berth has exceeded 4 million TEUs.
By the end of last year, there were 143 container routes in the harbour, including 87 international routes, 15 internal branch lines and 41 domestic trade lines streching out to all major domestic and international ports.
In 2012, the container throughput capacity of Xiamen Harbour was ranked 19th in the world (7.2 million TEUs). Recently, the latest ranking released by authorities showed that Xiamen Harbour has risen to the world’s fifteenth (9.6 million TEUs), moving up four places in only five years.
