15 main streets to show new landscapes before Spring Festival

On January 14th Xiamen Greening Management Centre said that the greening reconstruction project of East Hubin Road was almost complete and the work on fifteen other municipal main streets would also be finished before the Spring Festival.

Last September, Typhoon Meranti destroyed green belts on East Hubin Road. At that time, photos comparing the road dense with trees on September 14th and the aftermath on the 15th spread widely on the Internet. On September 15th, a great many broken branches fell on the road. On September 16th, the road was cleared and traffic resumed.

Now, the Bodhi trees grow again with green leaves and the newly planted camphor trees add more beauty to East Hubin Road. According to the Xiamen Municipal Greening Administration Centre, the greening reconstruction project started last November. The project retained the original Bodhi trees and used camphor trees to replace the damaged Pedunculatums.

They also explained that fifteen other main municipal roads will see new green landscapes. They are East Hubin Road, West Hubin Road, South Hubin Road, North Hubin Road, Central Hubin Road, City Avenue, Xianyue Road, Jiahe Road, Xiahe Road, Jinshang Road, Jinshan Road, Lvling Road, Lianqian Road, Lujiang Avenue and Yunding Road.
