Recruitment phone numbers of Xiamen Volunteer Alliances announced

This December 5th is the 31st International Volunteer Day. According to the Municipal Civilisation Office, Xiamen published six hotlines that will help different city districts promote the recruitment of volunteers. Through the guidance, standardisation and cultivation of voluntary efforts, the original services will be upgraded.
 

Xiamen is taking a number of concrete measures to boost its volunteer service, such as launching the website, "Volunteering in Xiamen" (http://XM.fjvs.org/), establishing a volunteer service information system connected to the national system and promoting the "Internet+" service. At present, there are nearly 500,000 volunteers, 1910 volunteer teams and 1793 volunteer programs on the website.

The Central Civilisation Office and China Volunteer Service Federation both spoke highly of the city’s volunteer services after they conducted special research in Xiamen. They have held up Xiamen’s experiences in volunteer services as an example to other places in China. In particular, they noted that in the aftermath of Typhoon "Meranti", Xiamen mobilised its citizens to participate in the city’s rebuilding work restoring much of the city’s most beautiful scenery.
