XMU to open 'best journey' for overseas students

XMU to be the first Chinese university to open an overseas campus with Xiamen Airlines “best journey” provided for students.

 

The first batch of Chinese students who will study in the first overseas university campus of a mainland Chinese University, Xiamen University Malaysia Campus, took Xiamen Airlines “best journey” customised flight MF823 to Malaysia for the opening ceremony.

 

XMU Malaysia staff Zhang Wenyu said the campus had enrolled 440 students from 14 provinces through the college entrance examination during this first phase. The students tavelled to Malasia on five Xiamen Airlines customised flights with six teachers accompanying then.

 

Wu Jiaru from Henan Anyang NO.1 Senior High School said her parents worried a lot until they saw so many XMU alumnae staff offering different types of help. The vice general manager of Xiamen Airlines, Cai Chengbao, said 1,050 members of the company’s staff had were XMU graduates and about 100 of them had become senior managers.

 

Xiamen Airlines offers a series of “exclusive customised” services, designing the flight process specially for XMU. Xiamen Airlines Kuala Lumpur Office also coordinated with the immigration office to open an exclusive channel and held a welcoming ceremony at the airport for the first batch of freshmen going to XMU Malaysia campus.

 

As two prestigious Xiamen institutions, XMU and Xiamen Airlines signed a formal agreement to become strategic partners on July 29th 2013. Xiamen Airlines agreed to create these “best journey” customised flights, presenting a most special gift for XMU on the occasion of it being the first to open an overseas campus.
