A brick-and-mortar bookstore opens on Gulangyu Island

Xiamen International Book Company (XIBC) opened two new bookstores last week, one on Gulangyu Island and the other at the Xiamen City University. The Gulangyu XIBC Bookstore features Cross-strait Chinese publications. It covers a book-selling area of nearly 700 square meters, with some 10 thousand varieties and 20 thousand volumes of books, including many books written by local authors and books about Gulangyu, Xiamen island, and Fujian-Taiwan relations, as well as books from Taiwan. Last month, Xinhua Bookstore opened its first children's bookstore in Huli District, and it will open a new bookstore at Jimei University.
