2016-08-24

Thanks to a convenient visa application process and an increase in consumption, there has been increased diversity in outbound tourism this summer. Parent and child travel, summer camp programs, cruises, etc. are all becoming more popular than ever.

According to data from the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Tourism, 1,160 tourist groups, which accounts for 23,995 people, traveled overseas between July 1st and August 15th, a year on year  increase of more than 190%. Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan are the most popular countries for outbound tourism.

The numbers of people traveling to America is also rising sharply, boosted by the bilateral government agreement on visa extensions and this year being the U.S.-China Tourism Year. Canada and Australia are also popular choices for summer vacations.

Overseas camp programs are always popular during the summer. Tourists, especially parents and students, are not satisfied with being quickly swept from one places of interest to the next nowadays. They are more tempted to learn something during their tour. Additionally, a large quantity of students can now speak basic English, forcing the travel-study tours to constantly upgrade.

What’s more, cruise tours are also very popular with Princess Sapphire and Legends of the Seas running at almost full capacity this summer vacation with parent-child groups becoming a trend during cruise tours. Xiamen C&D International Travel Service have even combined cruise tours with summer camps by inviting experts to teach English classes for children on cruises.
