Profile of XMIE

　　The Xiamen International Industrial Exposition (XMIE), also known as China Xiamen Machinery and Electronics Exhibition (CXMEE), exclusively authorized by China’s Ministry of Commerce, is jointly organized by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronics Products, Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association, and Xiamen Municipal People’s Government. It is staged in Xiamen every year in April.

　　XMIE(CXMEE) was set up in 1997. Thanks to the strong support and proactive involvement of the business communities from both sides of the Taiwan Straits over the past 18 years, XMIE(CXMEE) has evolved into the largest and most influential economic and trade exchange event across the Taiwan Straits, and the largest industrial exhibition in the West Coast Economic Zone. To date XMIE(CXMEE) has drawn more than 1,000 enterprises, 300 industry associations, and 30,000 trade visitors from Taiwan. XMIE(CXMEE) plays a significant role in expanding economic and trade ties and promoting economic and trade cooperation across the Taiwan Straits. It creates a superb platform for the procurement and equipment updating for the manufacturing industries on both sides.

　　As the largest industrial exhibition staged across the Taiwan Straits, the 18th XMIE(CXMEE) in 2014 featured 3,800 international-standard booths set up by nearly 1,000 enterprises, including over 750 booths by Taiwanese and Taiwan-funded enterprises. The exhibition drew approximately 39,000 trade visitors from 32 countries and regions. More than 4,900 overseas trade visitors attended the event, majorly from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and the Middle East.

　　The 2015 XMIE(CXMEE) is due to take place at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center from April 12-15, 2015. In addition to specialized machinery and electronics exhibitions, matchmaking symposium on investment projects and trade, Cross-Straits Economic and Trade Forum, and a number of technical seminars will be held during XMIE(CXMEE).
