Jimei district secures $1.5b worth of projects

The Jimei district, Xiamen city, Fujian province, secured $1.5 billion worth of projects at a signing ceremony of the 20th China International Fair for Investment and Trade held in Xiamen city, from Sept 8 to 11.

A total of 40 projects will be launched in the district, including 13 foreign projects and 27 domestic ones. The total foreign investment signed at the ceremony reached $210 million.

Jimei authority vows to continue its efforts in upgrading the industries of mechanical equipment production, software and information, tourism, modern logistics, new materials and urban agriculture.

The district will focus on introducing projects of scientific research, education, sports and health with the aim of building the district into a more livable area.

Jimei district is an important industrial base in Xiamen. It currently has industrial clusters of automobile production, engineering machinery and information technology.
